5×7 Cards Ready to Paint
Hello Friends!
I just wanted you to know that I am still working on my cards. Unfortunately, I did not make it to the printer this week with the first one. I became involved in a huge writing project.
Anyway, I did get three more sea turtles LIGHTLY drawn (sorry if you can’t see them well) onto the watercolor paper and will probably do some painting later today.
I didn’t feel very well for a couple of days this week, but I did get to talk with both of the kids for quite a while which made my week a lot brighter!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and all of you creative people out there are enjoying your creative endeavors, whatever they may be.
Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂
Ballerina Pencil Tracings
Here’s a couple of ballerinas I traced from a book. I tried to draw the child one by sight but had a heck of a time with the hands! So I gave up and traced it!! Then the other one is an older girl. I love her dress. I plan to do watercolors of these. They are from a child’s book about ballerinas. The lighting from my camera is terrible, sorry!
Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Sketch
HERE IS MY LATEST VERY ROUGH SKETCH OF THE LAST HUGE SEA TURTLE PAINTING I WILL BE DOING. IT IS THE KEMP’S RIDLEY, AND I WANTED TO DO A FRONTAL VIEW AS I REALIZED I HAVE BEEN DOING ONLY SIDE VIEWS OF ALL OF MY OTHER SEA TURTLES. THE FRONTAL VIEW IS THE MOST DIFFICULT FOR ME TO DO, BUT I NEED THE CHALLENGE!!!!
VERY CLOSE-UP!!!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY, AND GIVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE A BIG HUG!!!
Olive Ridley Sea Turtle Drawings – Pencil and Pen!
Here is my Olive Ridley Sea Turtle! These are pictures of the size I will be painting. This time I decided to trace the pencil with this really cool pen I received as a free gift at the art store where I buy my supplies. A couple of weeks ago, they gave away a little bag of goodies to the first 25 customers. It was on a Saturday, too, so I decided to go. I needed a couple of things anyway, and my husband needed something to make a sign for his California Conservation Corps. reunion. So we made the trip to town that day.
I am going to use this pen (and get more of them) for my tracings from now on, because I know it will be so much easier to see when I put it on my light board to transfer the drawing to my watercolor paper!
Have a wonderful day everyone, and give someone you love a big hug! (Do you know how many times I actually type gig hug? One of these days I’m going to miss correcting that! HA!)

CLOSE-UP INK TRACING {I had to tape a couple of pieces of tracing paper together. I still need to get a huge tablet of the size I need! 😉 }
HUMMINGBIRD DRAWING FOR JILL
I am calling this drawing “Jill’s Hummingbird” in honor of my friend Jill Weatherholt! She has a great blog. Check it out at: http://jillweatherholt.wordpress.com/
Here’s your hummingbird, Jill, along with a field of tulips. This was a lot of fun to do!
Smelling the flowers
Hawksbill Sea Turtle Drawings
HERE’S MY NEW SEA TURTLE. HE IS A HAWKSBILL SEA TURTLE. I DREW HIM YESTERDAY. THIS IS A DRAWING I PLAN TO USE IN MY NEXT PAINTING. THIS WILL BE MY THIRD SEA TURTLE IN A SERIES OF HOPEFULLY, SEVEN. THAT’S MY PLAN, ANYWAY!
ALSO, I AM PLANNING TO MAKE A POST SOON ABOUT A GREAT BOOK I READ THAT HAS INSPIRED ME IN MY ART AND PURSUIT OF AN ART CAREER.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE, AND GIVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE A BIG HUG!! 🙂
Close-up of his “bill.” See the hawk resemblance? 🙂
Sea Turtle Drawing
THIS IS THOMAS,
MY NEWEST SEA TURTLE.
This is graphite pencil on heavy paper. He is in the middle of an ocean of paper, size 18×24″. It is the largest drawing I have done of anything really. Thomas is a preliminary drawing that I want to lightly trace onto watercolor paper so I can make a painting of him. I will not trace every little detail as that would take way too long, just the outline. I don’t want to make the watercolor painting quite as detailed. At some point I will ad a background of water, etc., to this drawing, but I don’t have the time today!
Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a huge hug! 🙂
Emperor Palpatine and Yoda
THIS IS THE FRONT (EMPOROR PALPATINE) AND INSIDE (YODA) OF MY SON’S 17TH BIRTHDAY CARD I MADE FOR HIM YESTERDAY. THE EMPEROR IS WATERCOLOR AND YODA IS PENCIL.
I KNOW. HE’S EXTRA SCARY LOOKING! I WAS GOING TO SAY SOMETHING IN THE CARD LIKE, “THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU’RE OLD,” BUT I DECIDED NOT TO. 🙂
Have a great day, and give someone you love a hug! 🙂
