Baby Elephant in Pencil

Hello Friends!

Here’s a baby elephant I drew last night. Earlier this week I began a Golden Eagle watercolor, but it isn’t finished yet.

I had to go to town a couple of days this week for appointments, so my time was more limited.

So some of the things I said in my last post that I hoped to accomplish this week didn’t happen. I tend to go where my “muse” leads me these days anyway.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

Dumbo and His Friend, Timothy

Hello Friends!

Here is my finished Dumbo and Timothy mouse watercolor painting. I was going to add a light blue sky, but decided not to.

I was actually able to paint it light like I wanted it to be. I may get a red frame to match Timothy’s uniform and bring out the colors more. Or maybe a blue frame. Eventually, anyway.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😁

Dumbo Learns to Fly

Hello Friends!

This is a preliminary rough sketch of a painting I want to do of Dumbo learning to fly. It isn’t finished, because his little mouse friend isn’t sitting on his hat. I drew it looking at a picture on my phone. I hadn’t realized my phone’s charge was so low; it died right as I finished. Perfect timing!

I know I said I was planning to do a lot of new turtle drawings, but I got into collecting Blue Rays and/or DVDs of all the old Disney movies we have on VHS tapes. I don’t have this one replaced yet, and the tape we have won’t play anymore. That’s me, though. Unless I have a designated project to work on, I tend to be all over the place!

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. My son gave me the movie of Napolean (about an adorable dog.) We all loved it when the kids were little.

My husband gave me a print of the original drawing of the Hundred Acre Wood in a nice frame. And my daughter gave me a DVD of “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” which is a compilation of the original classic short shows that were on TV when I was a kid. I have tapes of them that still work, but this is great!

She also gave me the movie we saw in the theater together over the summer called “Christopher Robin” with Ewan McGregor playing him as a grown up. It is a pretty fun movie to watch and is very sweet story. If you loved Pooh, you may like this.  The characters from the stories were created from real stuffed animals and then computer animated but not in a cartoon style. It was really well done! And there’s some pretty great extras on the Blue ray disc.

I think Walt Disney was quite a genius at animation and was amazingly creative. It’s too bad he wasn’t around a lot longer.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😁

Dumbo’s Ears

Hello Friends!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Here is a quick little sketch of the part in Dumbo when his ears first unfold. I did it the other day with my Arteza brush pens.

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug!! 😁🎄❤
