Brother Bear

It is perfectly okay if you laugh at my bears. I do! I actually didn’t sketch these while I was watching “Brother Bear.” I just doodled cartoon bears the way I wanted them to look – GOOFY!!!

Bambi sketches

I love summer. I love to get my work done in the mornings, exercise, eat some lunch and watch old Disney movies. It’s a nice break from all the driving I have to do during the school year! 🙂

Yesterday, I watched Bambi. It is certainly a challenge trying to draw while watching them move. Our old VCR doesn’t keep those TAPES paused very long any more. Anyway, here is Bambi as a fawn, and later as an adult. I wanted to sketch Flower, the skunk and Thumper, the rabbit, but I didn’t take the time. That is work for some other day. I’m going to have to find these old movies on DVD now even though my kids have outgrown them.

Charlotte’s Web Sketches

A few weeks ago I was watching Charlotte’s Web, the first version, the cartoon animated one. Who can beat the voices of Debbie Reynolds (Charlotte), Henry Gibson (Wilbur), and my favorite, Paul Lynde as Templeton? It is one of my all time favorite Disney movies. Anyway, I have been trying to sketch while I watch animation lately which has given me a great excuse to watch all of our old Disney movies, and most of them are on VHS tapes! It’s a good thing our VCR still works…..

I didn’t try to copy them very accurately, but here are my renditions of some of the characters.

Here’s Templeton AFTER the fair!

Charlotte, the mama goose whose name I can’t think of and her hatchling Jeffrey who became friends with Wilbur.
