Collage of Nature

Hello Friends!

On Sunday afternoon I decided to go through an issue of “Outdoor California” which is published by the Department of Fish & Wildlife, whom my husband has worked with for over 20 years, after listening to a guided meditation online which is what inspired me.

This issue I had on hand containing these pictures and words happened to go along with what I wrote after the meditation which was a lot about exploring the woods and feeling water on my hands and hearing birds in the air. So that was really cool.

Just as I finished, I heard a knock on the door. When I opened it, our son was standing there which was a great surprise! He had just gone hiking for awhile up at Mt. Lassen which isn’t far from us. So he stopped by to visit. We went for a short walk since my husband wasn’t home yet and visited until he came home. Then we all visited fo a little while longer.

So this turned out to be one of the most blessed Easters I have had in a long time! Plus, I didn’t have to cook; we ate leftovers!

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

Owl Mixed Media – Stage 2

Hello Friends!

So here is stage two of my latest project. My mixed media includes: acrylics, collage and a white Uni-ball pen.

I am done working on this for today. On to doing something smaller now.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

Owl Mixed Media Work-in-Progress

Hello Friends!

I took a break from doing any art all weekend to rest my arm which always helps. So yesterday I got out an old painting and decided to try to add some collage and make a whole different creation.

So I cut these little birds out of a magazine but am going to paint over them with different colors. There are also other magazine pieces under the paint. They are the “collage” added for texture but I’m not sure it shows up well. I haven’t done much collage. Also I haven’t decided what to do in the bottom right corner yet.

The original painting is an acrylic on canvas I did years ago of just a setting sun on the dark ocean. But now it is going to be a moon in a dark forest, thus the owl. I decided to do an outline of my owl with a white Uni-ball pen before painting it. The great thing about acrylics is being able to do things over on them!

I took another break today because it’s our daughter’s birthday so we are taking veggie pizzas to her house tonight.

I plan on getting back to this tomorrow and then on to other projects as well.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😁
