Moon Child in Acrylics
Hello Friends!
Today I worked on two paintings! I was able to finish this one, because the first one I started had a layer that needed to dry before I can continue. So I plan to finish that one tomorrow.
Our instructor for this piece is new to Let’s Face It this year. Her name is Tiare Smith. She was a lot of fun to watch. I liked how she shared her thinking process, but I especially loved how she giggled a lot. I thought that was cute.
The point of this lesson was to play, not to do a realistic figure, and it was fun! I used a few blues, some phthalo green, and bright yellow for the background layers. Then I made my own dark skin tones, used black for her afro, and added some gold accents in her hair.
After that I painted more white on the moon, dotted on bright yellow and iridescent gold for stars, and sponged phthalo green on with a stencil of leaves. Lastly, I painted the flowers by forming hearts in a circle for each one which was Tiare’s idea.
I am looking forward to finishing my other painting tomorrow. I hope everyone’s Monday was great!
Have a wonderful day! 😀
