Portrait in Mixed Media
Hello Friends!
Yesterday I finished this portrait for Week 46 of Let’sFaceIt2020. Our instructor was Yvonne Morell. I used tissue paper for our shirts. Then I used a stencil in several different positions to sponge on the hanging plant that was behind us. Thick patterned paper is what I used for the chairs. And I just painted the corner of the table and added little stickers on it. All of the paint is acrylics. In the background I dipped a small porous sponge in Burnt Sienna paint to make the pattern on the wall.
The picture I used is one my mom took on my 21st birthday. My dad was famous for photo bombing whenever she tried to take pictures of me or my brothers. It used to make her so mad, ha ha! But I am so glad he did it that day. It is my favorite picture of him. (And he definitely turned out better than I did!) I had the hardest time with my own face! Maybe I’m not so vain after all, ha ha!
Have a wonderful day! 😀

Thanks, Anneli! I only got frustrated when doing my own face. The photo has a lot more light on me, so I had to wing it!

I can understand that, but you’ve done a great job on it.
