Audrey Hepburn in Oils
Hello Friends!
Yesterday, I finished this oil painting, my second one ever! This medium is so much more difficult than any other paint medium I have tried! Just cleaning the brushes alone is a process!
Anyway, I found a picture of Audrey Hepburn dancing and just had to try drawing and painting her! Also, I drew it from an 8×10 printout of the photo, but made her large enough to fill a 10×20″ canvas! I also made her shirt grey instead of black like it is in the photo. I wanted to be able to see her left arm which blends in with her pants in the photo, because she’s wearing all black.
I have to say that I have become a bit captivated by her since I began reading the book “Audrey Hepburn: A Charmed Life” by Robyn Karney. She was an intriguing person and an inspiration to many. Sweet. graceful, and down-to-earth is how I would describe her. So if you want to know more about her, I would recommend this book. The reading is easy and enjoyable and definitely not bogged down with boring or useless information like a lot of biographies I have tried to read in the past.
Have a wonderful day! 😀
