Black Woman in Pencil

Hello Friends!

This is a portrait I worked on for a few days. I found the picture of this beautiful black woman on Unsplash.com a few months ago, but I put it aside with some others I found back then. Her skin and features just struck me as exotic.

I may try to do this one in another medium, too, at some point. Doing pencil work makes my neck sore more than painting. I think I lean to one side without realizing it, because I am usually watching t.v. in the evenings when I am sketching. But the good news is that the shoulder I had fixed last November doesn’t hurt at all. That still amazes me!

I hope everyone is doing well! Take time out to be creative! My daughter has gotten into making earrings to eventually sell online. She gave me a pair, and they are beautiful! It’s fun to see her excited about something. She starts back to college online next week and is taking five classes! We are very proud of her.

Have a wonderful day!

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. I think it’s a really good idea to do something creative while we have all this isolation time.
