House Elves in Watercolor
For the last few days I have been working on these two pages in my fairy journal. I put gold and silver paint on the collar of the girl’s cape, but in the picture it looks a little bit coppery in color.
This was a lot of fun. I also loved painting all the bugs and the little fairy at the top showing off her skirt. I love this workshop, because I am learning more about technique and not feeling like I have to draw and paint the exact thing as the instructor is doing. I have a few more paintings to do of fairies and elves from this workshop. And I want to take my time.
I am really enjoying this project even more than the portraiture class. I tend to get bored when I don’t have enough variety in what I am doing. So when I begin feeling this way, I have to change gears for awhile.
I am glad I know this about myself and can accept it. I spent too many years of my life getting down on myself for feeling bored and not finishing things that didn’t hold my interest over long periods of time. I figured it would happen with the portraiture class at about the halfway point. But that’s okay. As long as I get all the videos downloaded on my laptop, I can take as long as I need to complete it. That is the main thing that attracts me to this type of online class. I never let myself feel rushed or like I have to keep up with everyone else. It is very freeing!
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀
