Fairy Journal Forest Watercolor

Hello Friends!

This week I worked on these two pages in my fairy journal. Our lesson was to draw forest fairies. So I had a lot of fun with these.

The first one I wanted to draw was the one on the rope swing. Our daughter had one for years in a tree in our front yard. And one day when she was swinging, I took a picture of her up in the air like this. She always looked so happy while she was playing on that swing! When I was showing her all the fairies in this painting, I realized that the other one highest in the tree, whose body you can only see the lower half of, reminded me of our son when he used to climb trees.

It was fun taking time to think of different fairies to draw and to make the forest itself come to life. There really are no limits to the amazing gift of the imagination! Next I will be drawing and painting flowers and a portrait of a flower fairy from my imagination.

I am still taking a break from my portrait class, though. I am just really hooked on Katrina Koltes’s classes. I signed up for two more of hers which are both very short watercolor classes. I think I am just having so much fun learning from her that I want to eventually take everything she offers!

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)
