Portrait of My Daughter-Stage 1

Hello Friends!

Today I decided to start a painting in acrylics of my daughter when she was younger. This is the underpainting done with Golden’s Raw Umber and a brown Stabilo water-soluble pencil. The faint lines are from the grid I drew to divide the canvas in 9 parts and transfer the photo’s image.

She had long hair then which was a brownish blonde color. The photo also has a lot of shadow in it. But I have been wanting to learn how to do a “pixelated” portrait, so I am also doing Kara Bullock’s “Pixelated Portraits” class. She demonstrates how to do several portraits, but I decided to try the first one using a photo reference of my daughter instead.

So we will see how it turns out in a few days! I feel up for the challenge! Stay well everyone.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)
