Portrait in Watercolor and Ink

Hello Friends!

Yesterday I completed this week’s lesson in my Let’s Face It 2020 class. The teacher was Deanna Strachan-Wilson.

I really enjoyed this. First, on Tuesday, I drew it lightly on a piece of 300 lb. Fabriano watercolor paper measuring 18″ x 24.” Then I painted it yesterday. I used calligrapy ink and a paintbrush to paint his clothes. Then I used a calligraphy marker, which has a chiseled tip on one end and a fine tip on the other, to do the outlining and some detail in the hair. I also decided to paint his hair a greenish blue color instead of blond.

I hope everyone is staying well! I don’t have much of a problem with being on lockdown because of the Covid-19 virus, but I hope it is over soon, because people need their jobs! It’s hard to know when things will get back to normal. In the meantime, I wish you all well.

I have lots of art projects to do, books to read, and family to visit with. So I am never bored!

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. Beautiful! I love this one very much.
Things are getting quite difficult here with Covid-19 and they are saying the worst will be coming during the next three weeks. I don’t mind isolating myself but I have to make sure my mother is okay and has enough supplies. The shops are empty of the basics like flour and other staple foods. I am hoping we all cope with this. Take care, Patsy! xx
