Little Girl in Pencil

Hello Friends!

First, this is a work-in-progress. I have been thinking a lot about what I really want to do with my art lately.

The topic of abuse is always in the forefront of my mind, and not just the abuse of women and children. All types of people and animals get abused every day and it is devastating to their souls.

The other day I drew this little girl who has been beaten and bruised and is feeling confused and broken as she sits in her closet. I tried to draw it so some of her room is in the background, but I added it as an afterthought, and the perspective is off. That’s okay, though, because it is not finished anyway. Some parts need to be darkened.

I have an idea in mind for a series I want to do, but it hasn’t surfaced onto paper yet. But it will be about a woman whose husband is physically abusive, but she decides to do something to help herself. It may be awhile yet before I can post any of it since I am also doing Let’sfaceit2020 all year as well. But this is my latest idea, so I decided to share it with you.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

About whitefeatherfloating

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork and some writing, but I also created a blog called "My Crazy Life!" in order to simply write my short autobiography and hopefully get some feedback on it as I go. However, it is a very slow project right now. You can find it here: https://spreadingmy2wings.wordpress.com Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. It’s a topic most people don’t want to know about. I found that out with my novels, some of which deal with abuse, and although it’s real and we should be talking about it, many people are still looking to sweep these ugly ideas under a rug and not have to think about them, much less deal with them. I think it’s a great idea to express this in your art. Just saying, don’t be surprised if people don’t want to look. I hope I’m wrong, but this is what I’ve experienced with that subject. What do you think? Am I way off on this?
