First Portrait in Acrylics, Stage 2

Hello Friends!

The first time I began painting this, my proportions and colors didn’t look right at all. So, I decided to to use some white gesso to cover the face and neck and the background so I could start those parts over.

The mistake I made the first time was trying to paint AFTER watching the videos of Kara Bullock’s demonstrations. That turned out to be a disaster!

So after I gessoed over it, I began slowly following along with her steps. I like how this is looking much better. She teaches how to paint in layers which is something I haven’t done much of in acrylics. It is certainly challenging! I used my right hand in a few spots, but have to keep using my left while my shoulder heals.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

About whitefeatherfloating

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)
