Portrait of a Filipino Girl on Christmas Morning!
Hello Friends!
I have had a picture of a Filipino girl printed out for years that I wanted to use to paint a portrait. So yesterday I got it out and began.
I liked the photo because she is wide-eyed and looks surprised (or maybe scared! Ha, ha!) The hardest part in portraiture painting, for me, is trying to get the skin tone right. In the photo, she looks pale, but I think in my painting I didn’t get her coloring quite dark enough. So I still have lots to learn about portraiture which is exciting. And to make it fit the season, I decided to make her shirt green and the background red. Then I threw on some gold sparkles for good measure.
I went to physical therapy yesterday, and I only have to wear my sling while I sleep now! My shoulder is healing nicely. I can’t believe it has been seven weeks already!
I hope everyone is having a nice holiday season. Mine has been stress-free this year which has been a blessing. I did all my shopping online!
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀
