Abstract Adventures!
Hello Friends!
Yesterday I received this book I ordered in the mail! I have done very little abstract art, but over the next few weeks I am going to be doing a lot with my nondominant hand. So I am just going to play! It is a myth, though, to think abstract art can be done by “anyone.”
In this book, “Abstact Art Painting – Expressions in Mixed Media” by Debora Stewart, she has a quote at the begining of chapter one:ย “Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colors, and that you be a true poet. This last is essential. — Wassily Kandinsky.
Well, I am not much of a “poet” these days, and I am still learning about composition, but it will be fun to explore drawing and painting abstracts!
My shoulder surgery is now scheduled for Monday, November 4th! I am glad they were able to get me in so quickly. Hopefully, the worst pain will be gone by Thanksgiving. (But I won’t have to do any cooking this year!) ๐ My arm will be in a sling for more than a month. And I am not sure how long it will be until I begin physical therapy. So I don’t think I will be able to post much in the last couple of months of this year. I may only be doing art for the next few weeks anyway.
So I will say now…Happy Holidays My Friends!
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! ๐

Take care of yourself, Patsy! My mother had hers done around 10 years ago. The recovery can be a little slow. Iโll keep you in my prayers.โค๏ธ
