Van Gogh Mixed Media Similarity

Hello Friends!

Last week I received some Van Gogh washi tape in the mail. Each roll has a “slice” of a different Van Gogh painting printed on it. One is from “The Starry Night,” one is from “Cafe’ Terrace at Night,” and the other is from “Branches of Almond Tree in Bloom.”

So I decided to cover the washi tape with a coat of Absorbent Ground. Then I used a black Micro ink pen to draw some branches and blossoms sort of like his almond tree branches. I used my light green and light yellow Winsor & Newton watercolor markers to paint the branches and my whte ink pen to color the blossoms. Then I outlined them in black.

This little painting is on a 4″×4″ black canvas. So it didn’t take long at all. I like the way it turned out.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)
