Alcohol Ink on Ceramic Tiles
Hello Friends!
Yesterday, our daughter came to visit and have dinner with us. I was telling her about wanting to experiment with my alcohol inks on tile. But I didn’t have any ceramic tiles. Then she remembered that in the “junkyard” where she and her brother used to go find stuff when they were kids, she said there used to be little tile squares there. So we took a short ride and lo and behold…there they still were! They are only about 2″x2″ square, so we brought about 20 of them home for me to practice on.
I started out trying to do a simple sunburst with the oranges and yellows, but it morphed into a punk rocker instead!
With the purple one, I wasn’t trying to make anything in particular, but the blooms turned into an Iris!
All in all it was a fun process. I will probably try some more experimenting on the tiles, but mostly, I will use the alcohol inks in mixed media pieces.
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

I think your experimentation looks really cool so far, I especially like the contrast of colours in the first one 🙂 I also think it’s neat that your daughter was so resourceful!

Thank you! I don’t know if I will ever “love” alcohol inks, but they are fun to play with. And yes, my daughter is resourceful and has a great memory! 😁
