Tulips in Mixed Media

Hello Friends!

Here are my tulips on another of my mixed media canvases that I made last week.

I started out painting the tulips in watercolor like the other flowers I have done, however, I think the background was darker than I realized, so I ended up painting them in acrylics.

Then yesterday I went to Michael’s to get more canvases and found a package of what I thought were butterfly stckers. When I opened them, though, there were lots of other plants, etc. in the package which was fun! But when I peeled the backing off, it was just the paper of the butterfly, so I had to use my matte medium to glue them down.

I will probably try doing my daffodils next, then the sunflowers. I haven’t decided whether or not I want to try painting the Peonies yet. I am thinking about moving on from flowers after the next two paintings to something different.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. A beautiful series of flowers. I don’t blame you for wanting to do something different soon, but you can always come back to do another flower picture.

  5. Don’t you hate it when the package is vague? ;( Turned out pretty anyway. Love butterflies.
