California Poppies Mixed Media
Hello Friends!
I did this painting yesterday afternoon. I decided I wanted to paint California Poppies right now instead of the big red ones that Miriam Schulman demonstrates in the class. I just love yellows, oranges, blues, and greens together.
I drew some poppies on lightly with a pen. I painted the stems with some acrylics, but mostly used my watercolor brush pens and watercolor paint to paint the rest. Then I outlined the flowers with a thicker marker. I still need to spray a protective acrylic coating over it, though.
Anyway, another fun day of painting!!
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! ๐

Very pretty, Patsy. Keep having fun. My daughter is learning to water paint. She has a long way to go to get to where you are but she is having fun and that’s what matters.

She’s taking the painting, I’m taking the memoir class. Same time, different classrooms. ๐

I really like the look of both these last two flower posts, and I love the look of ink and watercolours anyway. You should paint more flowers. They’re such beautiful pictures.

Thank you, Anneli. I hadn’t even realized how long it had been since I painted flowers! ๐

They would make lovely cards or paintings for the walls or pictures in a journal – any number of things. Even great designs for pillowcases to have sweet dreams on.

Thank you for your kindness, Anneli. I have had a hard time trying to sell other cards I had made years ago from other paintings, though.

Well, maybe you can just use them yourself for special occasions.
