Sunflower in Oil Pastels
Hello Friends!
Yesterday I decided to draw a sunflower in my sketchbook with my Pentel Oil Pastel sticks.
I haven’t used them in a long time, but I came across them while I cleaned my studio. Plus, I have a print of one of Vincent van Gogh’s sunflower paintings hanging in there now, so he is always inspiring me.
I hope everyone is doing well this Memorial Day weekend. Stay safe whatever you do.
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

I would swear this sunflower is smiling, Patsy!

Have you tried painting over pastels with kerosene or some other oil? It turns it into the look of an oil painting. Sorry I can’t remember more of the details. It was eons ago when I tried it.

No, I have never heard of that! Do you think baby oil would work?

Try it out on a little piece of paper. It would smell a lot better than the kerosene, for sure.

I will! And yes, I wouldn’t want to smell kerosene anyway! 😂
