Dark Dancer
Hello Friends!
Yesterday, I was feeling kind of overwhelmed with all of the new things I have been learning and with all of the new art groups I spontaneously joined on Facebook. I have noticed that my excitement took me in TOO MANY DIRECTIONS! So I decided to leave a few groups.
Then late in the afternoon I began doing some collage in my art journal. That led me to remember I have been wanting to paint more of my Goth ballerinas. I was in a semi-dark mood and needed to do something to express it. I realized I wasn’t depressed; I was just living in the moment.
When I was finished and showed it to my husband, he said he liked it! I told him I couldn’t think of a good title for it. Then he suggested DARK DANCER. I liked that!
The pose I gave her is one I like that is in an Edgar Degas painting. But of course I made mine very different. I put a sort of crown on her head which may look like part of her hair. Then I added words to express the emotions I felt and thoughts I was thinking last night. “BALANCE” is at the top which is what I realized that I need most right now. The whole process was actually therapeutic.
I feel back on track and it’s a new day!! I am sitting outside on a very cool spring morning in my sweats getting ready to have my coffee and do some journal writing.
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀
