Bunnies in Watercolor
Here are some bunnies to hopefully brighten your Friday!
I had a great day yesterday! I went to town for some routine blood work, then browsed at the library and checked out a few books, then visited with our kids for a few hours and came home.
Then an exciting and unexpected email came and brightened my day even more!
Last July I finished a correspondence writing course. My instructor encouraged me to submit my article about Leafy Sea Dragons that I wrote for my last assignment. It’s called DRAGONS DOWN UNDER, because they are native ti Australia. I sent it to a couple of magazines this past August.
Yesterday, Skipping Stones magazine for children sent me a reply and asked if my article was still available for publishing!!! They are giving me a free subscription for a friend and six complimentary copies of the issue! (They are an international magazine, too!)
I also told them I could illustrate a leafy sea dragon as well if they were interested. The editor said she was, so I am going to be starting on that today since she needs it in a couple of weeks!
They are publishing it this JUNE! When I wrote back to her, I asked the editor if she would be interested in an article about the perils sea turtles face to survive. She said she will look at it and consider it for another issue!
Finding this out at the end of a great day made it even better! I just wish my parents and brother were still alive so I could call them!
I am still working on getting another sea turtle painting going. But I am almost done with a Golden Eagle I began last week!
Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀
