Cardinal Pencil Drawing

Hello Friends!

Last night I decided to draw a Cardinal bird head very large because I want to try painting it this size in watercolor. The trickiest thing about the male cardinal is the bright and deeper tones of red! This will definitely be a challenge to paint!

As you can see, I did not put a lot of detail into its feathers that are different tones of red. This is just a quick sketch I did last night.

I’m not sure when I will attempt to paint this, but probably sometime next week. I am feeling anxious to start on the rhino watercolor! I hope you all had a nice week!

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀
