Owl Pencil Drawing & Watercolor

Hello Friends!

These days I have been working on drawing animals without tracing photos I find but drawing them just by looking at one.

I have been wanting to do an owl for awhile ever since my daughter said her friend was going to decorate her new baby’s room with owls.

Here is the pencil drawing.

Then I decided to paint from this drawing also without tracing it. As you can see, the watercolor came out different in size and structure, but I love the way the colors came out! I have been working on using more water and less paint in my watercolors. One of the colors of this Eagle Owl are dark brown, but I still didn’t paint the darker feathers as dark as I could have.

Owls happen to be one of the woodland creatures that are featured in the class I have been doing online, too. So this was fun.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I am off to have some lunch and do laundry.

Have a wonderful day and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

  1. These are great, Patsy. Have you finished ICL? I’m waiting on my instructor’s comments for my revision on Assignment #10 (it’s taken me awhile).
