Doodle in Pencil
Hello Friends!
Here is a doodle of a dog, a worm, and a butterfly sitting in their serene backyard.
I started another pencil doodle last night that I still need to finish.
Today I went to the library and found some books about children’s book illustrators; also a book about Beatrix Potter. I have a couple of books about her art ordered from Amazon that should come this week. But this is a biography called “Beatrix Potter – Artist, Storyteller and Countrywoman” by Judy Taylor published in 1986. It is a good readable length that will not feel daunting.
I really love her art, because she drew so much from life which shows in her style.
I draw from pictures or out of my imagination mostly because the fish hatchery where I live doesn’t have a huge variety of plants, trees and animals. Deer and turkeys are what we see most. Although a couple of months ago I got a picture of a jack rabbit. We have been here since 2001, and that is the first one I had ever seen right at the end of our driveway and happened to have my phone on me. I haven’t drawn it yet, though.
I hope all of my American friends had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. Ours was fun. Both of our kids were here as well as our daughter’s boyfriend. Our son played a few songs on his new ukulele which was fun to listen to. He plays well!
Have a good day, and give someone you love a big hug! 😀

You are a pretty good doodler. 😉 I still have the movie, Miss Potter about Beatrix Potter. Loved it so much I’ve watched it 3 or 4 times already. Probably not true to the real story but I loved watching her process. Glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Have a great week.

Thank you! Is your movie the one with Renee Zellwinger? I liked it a lot, too. I think some of it is true. And thank you, our Thanksgiving was relaxing. How about yours? You have a great week, too! 😁

Yes, it was the movie with Renee’ Zellweger. I bought the movie because she was a woman who stood on her own. I’m not sure how factual it was but want to research it further in my free seconds. 😉

From what I recall, I think it was pretty accurate, but have fun researching her! I am! 😁
