“Inktense” Sea Creatures

Hello Friends!

Last night I was trying to work on the element of composition. I still don’t think this shows enough depth in the background. But anyway, it was just a fun doodle I did with my new Derwent Inktense Pencils. They are similar to watercolor pencils, but are permanent whereas you could add more color to a watercolor painting, or use a wet brush to lift color out.  But I don’t think you can do that with these pencils.

This is Mr. C. Turtle and Hermie again. I couldn’t figure out how to draw the hat at the right angle. And if you look over to the right, above Hermie, that thing sitting on the ledge is supposed to be a puffer fish! Ha, ha! I don’t know how to draw those quickly at all as you can tell. It just looks like a blob with eyes. And the little red things are supposed to be starfish. The upper one’s leg came out weird, so I decided he is helping to pull up the one on the bottom. He is lending him a leg instead of a hand.

So anyway, I just felt like posting this to share with you that I am still having fun learning! I never want to stop learning about and trying new materials even if I don’t like how something turns out. And the only way to ever master anything is to keep practicing! There is always more to learn.

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)

  2. Lots of fun. Don’t forget, no two starfish are identical so one of them could easily have a leg that was “different.”
