My Character Sketches

Hello Friends!

It feels like it has been forever since I have had a chance to post! I am in my second week of my illustration class and it is really fast-paced! But I am learning a lot…I think! 😉

So our assignment this week was to do sketches of our character with different expressions and in different poses. Do you know how hard it is to figure out how to get a sea turtle to look like he is bowing?? (That’s the last one by the way.) In the one next to that, he is supposed to be looking smug, but I didn’t get his eyes exactly like I wanted them.

He is wearing a monocle and a top hat because he is supposed to be a very “proper” and sort of pompous sea turtle in the story I don’t have worked out yet. This is the same character from my story that I posted some of a long time ago and did the sketches in watercolor. Those include the little fish character, too. The post is probably in my Sea Turtle Stories. Anyway, I don’t have time to go find the link.

Well, I hope everyone is doing okay out there in the blogosphere! Our weather has been so cool here in the last few weeks that we have been able to leave the windows open at night! I don’t even turn the A/C on until late in the afternoon when it warms up a bit.

So…back to the drawing board as they say!

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. Those are SO cute!!! Taking classes is a great way to stretch yourself. Love that you are learning so much. That’s what it’s all about. Not being perfect. 😉 Cooling down here too. Yay!
