Toy Box Sea Turtle Finished!

Hello Friends,

I am done with my first sea turtle in acrylics! I ended up working on it some more last night. I worked on the turtle a little and added the foliage. Then this morning I finished the turtle and removed the masking tape from around the edges. I am very glad to be done! I took the picture of it outside so it was on the sidewalk. The cut-out part is one of the handles as this was a short side piece.

I think I only have one more piece of the toy box to paint. There are two pieces left, but one of them has what I already painted on the front of it when we first put it together about 19 years ago.

We got the toy box for our son when he was a little over two years old. So I stenciled a teddy bear and hearts and his first and middle names on it. So that will stay the way it is. I don’t even want to “touch it up.” I guess I will take a picture of that and post it last.

Eventually, I will try to find some kind of hangers for these so I can put them on the walls in his old room (which is now my writing/workout room) when I am done with the last one.

This has been a challenging and fun project. I have really enjoyed doing these. Thanks for everyone’s support in the blogosphere! I really appreciate all of you.

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug. 🙂

  5. It turned out spectacular!!! If your son isn’t blown away by it now, a few more years will cultivate more appreciation. It takes them awhile sometimes. I love this painting! I hope you keep doing it.
