Acrylic Sea Turtle (Not finished yet!)

Hello Friends,

Well, I have no idea what I’m going to do with this painting! I am thinking that so far this is an “under painting” which means I will be painting over some of it. This is the other small toy box piece. But I am not sure if it is going to stay on there. I have never attempted a sea turtle in acrylics before. It looks kind of strange to me. Although, to be fair to myself, I have not painted any eyes in yet! So yeah, very strange looking!

I went to the library a couple of days ago and began working on the bones of my LAST writing assignment for my class. I am writing an article about leafy sea dragons. I am still waiting on a couple of books I ordered about them, though. It isn’t due until August 7th. I have most of the information I need to write it, but I figured a couple of more little books couldn’t hurt anything, right?

Also, the day I went to the library, I went into their little store…again. Yes…I went there. I’m not going to post pictures, but I’ll tell you what I got for just $6! If you saw my previous post about the art books I found awhile back, you’d see that I found a couple of books that came in cardboard slipcovers. They are over-sized hardbacks. I noticed this time that they are part of a series from “Time-Life Books.” Anyway, I found two more of those. One is called The World of Leonardo and the other one is called The World of Michelangelo.

I also found a book by Rene Huyghe called Van Gogh. So of course I had to get it. After all, he is my favorite artist!

I think if they keep cleaning out their art section, I may end up with their library of art books! Ha, ha. 😉 Of course, actually, I haven’t gone to check the shelves to see if for sure these are those books. I realize someone could have donated these and they didn’t need them in their art section. I have checked them all out at one time or another in the last five years. But now I won’t have to! Cool, huh?

Well, I need to get to work on my leafy sea dragon article. Plus, I am going to be doing a painting for a friend at some point soon.

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂

  2. Right now he looks like a “Van Gogh”st turtle – a little bit spooky with that see-through head.
