Longsnout Seahorse Watercolor

Hello Friends,

Here is my first seahorse! I decided to spend this afternoon finishing this painting. We have a big end table that I can put all my paints and water and brushes on if I want to watch t.v. while I paint. I used to listen to music and sit at my art table, but that chair is kind of harder on me than the easy chair these days. Today I watched Shrek the Third! Ha, ha, ha! I still watch movies made for kids. Besides there are more jokes in them now that only most adults would get anyway.

I used my favorite bright colors which are Quinachridone Gold and Lemon Yellow. This is a longsnout seahorse. I really love how bright these are. Of course seahorses come in many many different colors, some have spikes and some are pygmy which are the very smallest ones.

Longsnouts reach a maximum of about seven inches. They are found in the Atlantic Ocean as far as the Mediterranean. I think all seahorses are just adorable. I mean how many other creatures look like a horse, have a monkey’s tail, and yet is a fish who swims in the ocean? Pretty cool, huh?

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂
