Common Sea Dragon Ink Sketch

Hello Friends,

The other day I decided to do a quick sketch of the Common Sea Dragon. As you can see, it has many less appendages than the Leafy Sea Dragon. So why didn’t I pick this one to paint you might wonder? Well, to me, the Leafy Sea Dragon is more challenging and just seems to have so much more character! They are definitely wondrous sea creatures.

Well, our weather here has drastically changed in one day from beautiful cool and breezy spring to a stagnate 92 degrees! It is June now, though, so I am thankful that we had an actual spring season this year anyway. But I think our summer is finally here (even though it isn’t the 21st yet.)

When I was a kid living in Georgia, I loved summer even with the humidity (I didn’t know any different, then, though.) But that was because my mom either set sprinklers out for us to play in or took us to the local public swimming pool. Although, I do have great summer memories of our small pool we had for a couple of summers when the kids were young. All we could do was play in it, but it relieved a lot of stress!

What is a favorite summer memory of yours?

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂

About whitefeatherfloating

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork and some writing, but I also created a blog called "My Crazy Life!" in order to simply write my short autobiography and hopefully get some feedback on it as I go. However, it is a very slow project right now. You can find it here: https://spreadingmy2wings.wordpress.com Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. I loved the pool, but the visit by the Bookmobile was always a treat! 🙂

  2. The pool was great, but I also liked the preparations that occurred a few weeks before school.

  3. Patsy, your summer memories paint a rich picture. I have fond memories of playing hide-and-seek with the neighbor kids into the warm summer night.

    • Thanks! I loved playing that, too, Tiffany. When I lived in Kentucky from ages 10-16, my neighborhood friends and I played Ghost in the Graveyard at night. It was similar to hide-n-seek except I think the seeker was the ghost. I can’t really remember that well. 🙂

  4. That is the kind of drawing (pen) that I would love to add a touch of watercolour to. I really like the look of watercolour and pen.
