The Grinch and Max
It’s hard to believe it is almost Christmas. The other night my husband and I watched the original cartoon version of Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” voiced by none other than Boris Karloff. It has always been one of my favorites from childhood. My dad loved it, and I can still hear his voice in my head saying certain parts of it.
So I decided to try and sketch them. The Grinch looks a little weird, but I like how Max turned out. It is a very rough and quick sketch, and I had to pause the VIDEO TAPE!! We haven’t gotten this on DVD or Blue-ray yet! Ha, ha. 😉
Anyway, this has been a strange holiday season. We have had a few things happen to our car. The latest one yesterday was that a ladder fell off the back of a P.G.&E. truck that was driving toward us on the highway when we were on our way to town. It slid into our lane and my husband could NOT avoid hitting it. Fortunately, it only ruined the left front tire. Then when he went to change the tire, he found that our spare was flat. So we had to call a friend to come and bring us something to pump our tire up so we could get to town and buy new tires. The front ones needed replacing anyway, so we got two new front ones and a new spare. Hopefully, that will be the last of the unexpected car expenses this year! We had to have an expensive part replaced a few weeks ago, too. Whew! My husband is telling people we were “torpedoed by a ladder.” At least we didn’t wreck or get hurt which is a lot to be thankful for. It also happened on a dry sunny day which was good, too.
Well, I am busy reading a lot and trying to come up with a character sketch for my next assignment. So that is what I’ve been working on lately. In the evenings we watch a little t.v. so that’s how the Grinch and Max came about. I have started on an elephant mom and baby drawing, but probably won’t get back to it for awhile. I don’t know if I will have anything very “Christmasy” to post by Monday, so just in case, have a very Merry Christmas everyone!
God bless you all.
Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂
