Australian Flatback Sea Turtle
Hello Friends!
Wow, yesterday was quite the day being a guest on my friend Jill’s blog! I met several new wonderful people and their thoughtful comments made my day! Thank you, Jill, and everyone!
As promised, here is another sea turtle I have re-drawn in a 5×7 size that I will paint again in watercolors. This is the Australian Flatback; their scutes on their backs don’t seem to be as prominent as other types of sea turtles – they look smoother which is why I painted it that way originally. I may change it a little, though and just make the lines light.
I named Christine when I first painted my huge one a few years ago. I named her after Christine, a fellow blogger I met here on WordPress who lives in Australia and is also a wonderful and creative artist herself. I learned a lot from her when I first began my blog four years ago. She does more teaching on her blog which is a great gift she has.

Well, it is back to the drawing/painting board for me! Also…writing. I am beginning a new writing course which I will tell you about soon.
Watch for a few more turtles coming along! I may also start on a new sea turtle project for displaying at a local art gallery. I will tell you more about that later, too. It is not a commission or anything I was asked to do. It is a voluntary piece I can contribute for their Holiday sale where people can sell paintings and crafts they’ve made I think. I will be finding out more about it soon.

ON MONDAY, WATCH FOR MY NEXT GUEST BLOG POST. My guest will be another friend I met through our local Writer’s Forum group, Vickie Linnet.

Thank you so much! That is so encouraging to hear! 🙂 The eyes are the hardest part to do and I think that is where their charm lies (and the mouth.) 🙂
