Art, Mystery, and Dungeons and Dragons

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that I have not been doing much art lately. I do have a drawing done that I am planning to transfer to watercolor paper and paint for a friend soon. It’s going to be a surprise for her, though, and I need to get moving on that.

Here is a picture of the latest book I am reading that I began several days ago and have a hard time putting down to do other things. I think it may be an older book cover than the one I have, but it is more colorful.

Wow, what an intriguing mystery! I have never read any of Tana French’s novels. I just happened to see this one at Barnes and Noble one day and decided to pick it up. I am glad I did. It is her first novel in a series. Oh boy, that means I have to put a few more books on my “To Read” list on Goodreads. Anyway, I love finding new writers and reading all of their books!

If you like mysteries, you may love this book! But I am not going to do a book review on it, because it is the kind of book you don’t want to know anything about in case of possible spoilers.

I have been spending my summertime days exercising at the gym, but I also just found a new exercise bike for $150, hardly used. It is a blessing! Now I can exercise at home in better air conditioning than they gym has! But I will still go there as I like the people.

I have also been watching movies, and reading other great books! Last night I tried to play Mariokart on the Wii with my daughter which was a blast, but I kept coming in last place. What the heck, though, it was FUN! Screwing up just made me laugh all the more! On a couple of tracks I kept falling into the water. 😉 This is my character, Koopatroopa, a little yellow turtle. (My daughter had already claimed the green turtle, Yoshi.)

AND…..I am also playing my very first Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game with my husband and kids once a week. My husband is the Dungeon Master, and my kids and I are trying to find who has been stealing some guy’s goats! It has been fun even though we have only played two rounds so far. They have all played roleplaying games before, so I am the “newbie.” My son is 18 and has been playing them for years. He is involved in being the game master for a Star Wars role-playing game with this friends again this summer. He did it last summer with this same group for the first time, and they really enjoyed it. He is a wonderful writer and can think on his feet like no one I’ve ever seen! He is amazing in our D & D game!

Dungeons and Dragons

I am still reading other people’s blogs, and I want to say thank you to those of you who still check in to mine and those new people who have stopped by. I appreciate it. I realize my blog kind of became an art gallery in the last year, but that is not the only thing I want it to be about. I also like writing about what is going on in my life at times like today. I want to apologize for taking so long in finishing my sea turtle story; I need to get back to that, too. I am one of those who starts several projects at once, but then takes forever to finish some of them. I guess my hangup is that I sometimes get bored with things I start, then have a hard time finishing them! Hang in there with me, though.

I am planning to eventually finish it AND my autobiography which is on my other blog at That is hard for me to get back into, though, because the place I left off at was emotionally difficult to move on from so I had to take a break from it.

I hope you are all having a great summer! Enjoy it. See you soon.

Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂

About whitefeatherfloating

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork and some writing, but I also created a blog called "My Crazy Life!" in order to simply write my short autobiography and hopefully get some feedback on it as I go. However, it is a very slow project right now. You can find it here: Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. My gosh, you’re busy. Enjoy every minute:)

    • Thanks, Elena. Well, honestly, I don’t feel very busy. Summer is hard for me. All year long while the kids are in school, I long for it, but then once I have all this “extra” time, I feel challenged at trying to fill it! But now I only have one child in school, and she will will be a Junior in highschool this year.

I did start a new painting yesterday, though, and I felt like I was back in my “zone.” 🙂
