Ballerina Pencil Tracings

Here’s a couple of ballerinas I traced from a book. I tried to draw the child one by sight but had a heck of a time with the hands! So I gave up and traced it!! Then the other one is an older girl. I love her dress. I plan to do watercolors of these. They are from a child’s book about ballerinas. The lighting from my camera is terrible, sorry!

When I began this blog I was simply going to share my writing. However, after being part of the blogging world for quite some time now, I decided to begin sharing my artwork. Patsy's Creative Corner will always have my artwork. Thanks for visiting! :)

  1. I love to sketch from photos but I don’t trace, I especially enjoy sketching pictures of elderly faces with expressive wrinkles! I also like sketching pen and ink drawings of animals, flowers, and children. I enjoy pen and ink, watercolor pencil, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, but I’m not so fond of Oils. They take too long to dry! LOL! I spend most of my time however writing. I’ve created and sketched and made a few of my own book covers. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your creative endeavors.

    • I don’t usually trace either, but for people, especially people doing something active, I have to. I haven’t had much experience learning to draw the human body! It sounds like you also have a wide variety of mediums and interests. I like that for myself. I still like watercolors and graphite more than other mediums, however. Do you have pictures of your book covers online? You’re welcome. I enjoy sharing my art in the blogging world! 🙂

    • Thank you, Mary. I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully, I’ll have time this afternoon. Right now I’m in town checking into a new school for my daughter and my son is practicing his driving with my husband. I’m at the library catching up! Whew!!
