20th Anniversary Picture

20th Anniversary

This is the picture our daughter Grace took last night before we went out to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We went to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant, Gironda’s, where we eat have been eating for many years since we moved to this area.

We received an unexpected blessing last night. A couple of young ladies were having dinner together at a table close to ours. They must have heard us say we were celebrating our 20th anniversary when we came in. When our waitress brought the check (the girls were gone already), she told us that the girls had given her $20 to put towards our dinner bill. That was so nice! It made me tear up. The waitress said she cried when they gave it to her. I thought she knew them well, because I noticed before they left, she cried a little and hugged them. Now I know it was because of what they had done for us. Of course, George tipped her very well, in turn. (Pass the kindness on, you know!) Also, she brought us a free dessert to share, and the owner came and congratulated us on our 20 years.

George gave me a beautiful silver locket, but I still need to get pictures in it. He engraved two X’s on it for 20. I gave him a silver pocket watch to replace the one I had given him on our 5th anniversary. Something happened to it when we moved here 14 years ago. It was so beautiful, but I have never been able to find one that came anywhere near it until last week. I literally stumbled into a store I had never gone in at the mall, found the watch, and had it engraved. It came with a beautiful box I had engraved, too.

At dinner last night, I asked out of curiosity where George had bought my locket. He said, “Thing Remembered” in the mall.” I laughed and said, “That’s where I bought your watch, too!”

What an appropriate place to buy such treasures. THINGS REMEMBERED

I know it is always going to be a special memory for me. Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a hug, especially if you have a special someone in your life. 🙂
