MD Imaging “Artist of the Month”
UPDATE ON MD IMAGING’S ARTIST OF THE MONTH. They will be hanging these two paintings in their main lobby sometime this week! If you live in Redding, CA, or nearby, stop in and see them! I feel very blessed and honored for this opportunity to show my work. It is very exciting!!
I know I have posted these before. But today I am taking them to show to a local company, named MD Imaging. They feature a piece of art by a different artist every month. Most of their artists have been photographers, but she is interested in seeing some of my paintings. So I am going to show her some of my work today. I am hoping she picks one of these pieces since they are already framed. They are my two favorites of anything I’ve ever done. But she may want a painting of something different that is local, so I am prepared to do whatever she may ask for. It would be a great opportunity for me.
I have been encouraged greatly in recent years by reading about so many artists who didn’t really start learning to paint until they were in their 40’s and are now showing their work while they are in their 50’s and 60’s! I figure there is hope for me yet! I would so love to be able to sell more of my work.
But I have recently received another commission from my Pastor at church. He has owned a couple of airplanes, but has a favorite one from the past. He wants me to paint it in the air in front of Mt. Shasta (which is in Northern California) with a little snow cap and trees. I have to get a larger photo than he gave me and begin doing some preliminary drawings. But it is going to be a wonderful challenge for me as I’ve never painted or even drawn an airplane before! I will be doing it in watercolors.
I apologize for not posting how I would do a watercolor painting yet, but I am planning to have my daughter take pictures of me in this process on this project.
Have a wonderful day, and give someone you love a big hug! 🙂
