These flowers were in the yard of the bed and breakfast that my family and I went on vacation to in Crescent City, CA, last summer. It’s a beautiful place with wonderful hosts! Check it out!

Thank you so much Margaret! That is surprising for me since I haven’t been blogging very long. But I appreciate it!
I love your blog and your kind personality. I am looking forward to reading many things you have on there. How long have you had your blog?

Wow! That’s great! Hey, I’m glad you’re available right now. I was trying to send you an invitation to a 2nd blog I started the other day. My message on the invite explains it, but it won’t send to the WordPress address. I guess it wants an e-mail?

Great! I’m not in a hurry. I thought it was going to appear like pages you could flip through, but I’m not sure it is??

Doesn’t look like it yet. But we can fix that.

I just love hydrangeas … I have a young plant just the same. The way to get such an intense blue is to put iron nails in the bottom of the planting hole as the iron turns them blue. They can change the basic colour of pink to blue this way. Fascinating, isn’t it? Good luck with the painting.

I was amazed by the color, too! That’s an interesting way to get that color. I wonder if that’s what they did? Anyway, I’m so glad you said what kind of flower it is! I couldn’t think of it and hadn’t tried to find it in a book. Thank you! I don’t know when I’m going to get to this particular one, because I am starting a watercolor of an interesting flower from a friend’s garden. She said it is some kind of rose, but she didn’t remember planting it!! 🙂 I have been intending to do it for months. So I plan to get it lightly drawn onto my paper today.

That’s the color blue I thought maybe, but I think it may even be deeper than that. I am going to look at what the art store here has and see if I can get a couple of different blues than I have and try to mix until I get it.

Wow! I hadn’t thought of that either! Would they give me a sample thingy to take to the art store or just tell me what the actual color is called?
